An embroidered silk, Japanese kagamikake (traditional mirror cover). In Japan, this is used by the Japanese to cover a mirror, as they believe that mirrors can not only ward off evil spirits but can also attract them, so, in traditional Japanese homes, they cover their mirrors when not in use
