A Japanese, vintage, kagamikake (mirror cover), with metallic, golden kiri (paulownia), flying cranes, splashing waves.
This is used by the Japanese to cover a mirror, as they believe that mirrors can not only ward off evil spirits but can also attract them, so, in traditional Japanese homes, they cover their mirrors when not in use. Geisha still use them
