A very large green silk fukusa, with golden katabami (wood sorrel clover) mon (crest) and a wwonderful cranes design on the other side. The cranes stand in front of a golden hexagon with pines on either side.
Some damage in the middle. This will have cost a fortune when new and the damage as now made it very inexpensive.
Fukusa are used when giving gifts, one places the gift on a little tray, then drapes the fukusa over the top. It would look fabulous framed in a simple, narrow, black lacquered frame frame or decorating the centre of a table
