- A black silk, Japanese haori kimono jacket, with yuzen (hand painted textile art) diamond shaped porcelain. Exquisite design. Has the textile artists signature, in the form of a rakkan (red seal) on an inside front, you only find that on work by reknowned artists. Unfortunately I can't translate the name. A garment such as this is a labour of love created by traditional craftsmanship
- Complete with silk, hand briaded haori himo (front ties), usually purchased separately
- Awase (lined). The lower lining is the same silk as the outside, the upper lining is a different, lighter silk, as is standard in lined haori
- A traditional, hand tailored garment, with raw seam ends hidden inside and out
- Perfect worn over a kimono and absolutely stunning worn with trousers, skirts or leggings. Long enough, perhaps, to wear as a short wrap dress
- May have shitsuke, which is large, very loose white stitching around some edges, to keep the haori flat and neat during storage. Those stiches just get pulled out gently before use. The Japanese take great care of these garments, as they are incredibly expensive and treasured, so store them with great care, which is why so many of this age and older are still in fabulous, strong condition today, with a long life ahead of them.
- Made and bought in Japan
- Please be aware that different monitors display colour slightly differently, therefore the colour in the photos and description is a guide only
