Parasols & Flowers Cotton Yukata Bolt
  • This is an unused bolt of cotton fabric, for a yukata kimono. A bolt of kimono fabric is called a tan.
  • A hand printed cotton bolt, with a design of Japanese parasols, kikyo (Bellflower)", nadeshiko (fringed pinks) and botan (Peonies).
  • Woven and printed to make a yukata kimono, with the design positioned to be in the correct places on the finished kimono.
  • This is known as a tsukesage-gara yukata bolt, the pattern on the finished kimono is in the layout normally found on a tsukesage type of kimono
  • Made in Japan.
  • Please be aware that different monitors display colour slightly differently. Therefore the colour in the photos and description is a guide only


Condition:
Excellent - a touch of discolouration on the edge - see photos

Measurements approximately:

Width 37.8cm

Length - approximately 10M, enough to make a kimono, all kimono bolts are the same length and all the textile is used when making a kimono.

  • Clean with caution. I would be wary of washing it, more inclined to dry clean but cleaning is done entirely at buyer's own risk, as with all vintage items.
