Wooden Japanese Soroban Abacus
  • A Japanese soroban, which is an abacus used in Japan for speed counting. This soroban is made by Kodama, one of the best makers of Japanese soroban. It was discovered that certain types of abacus, specifically the soroban abacus, help in the fast memorization or recollection of the beads, therefore making memorising of mathematics simple and speedy. Some Japanese are extremely adept with soroban and learn, through its use, to do huge calculations amazingly fast, either using the soroban or, through much practise on them, by visualising one in their heads.
  • Made in Japan
  • In Japan, studying abacus is believed to help strengthen one's ability to do mental calculations. It is impressive to see them in use.
